Turtle Trial Update 4.0 - Frozen Chains


This is the release of the "Frozen Chains" update which is a redesign of the scourge redemption trial map. The map has been updated with new health and damage systems that match the previous trial. With new consumables, new missions, new enemies, and new biomes making the exploration of the icy sea more interesting. If you are looking for a challenge, then the frozen chains are for you as it is more difficult than the ocean path trial.

Added. 

• New island types: tundra and icy plains that the player can travel on.
• 5 Missions specific for this trial that unlock automatically for the player to complete.
• Temperature adds a new element of danger to the environment and is demonstrated using the new temperature bar at the bottom right of the screen.
• When the player temperature reaches below 20%, freezing status effect will be active slowing the player and ultimately killing them. 
• Snow will begin to fall when the temperature of the area is low and will get harsher depending on the temperature drop.
• Further north the faster the temperature drops.
• There is now an easy difficulty option for both trials.
• 12 new biomes for the player to explore.
• Chained turtle spirit enemies now have new blizzard attack.
• New enemy type knows as the tormented with a chained wind attack are wandering the icy sea.
• When the player is hit by the wind chains attack, it does cold damage and lowers the turtle’s temperature.
• 3 new consumable food-balls specific for this trial have been added, these are Warm-up ball / Freeze ball / Burn-Out ball which have new effects.
• New rock types like crystal and hard ice rocks.
• New resources specific for this trial.
• Ending sequence and introduction UI has been added to the “Frozen chains” trial.

Changed.

• Health / Damage / Crafting / Consumable system have been replaced with the same systems as ocean path trial.
• Funding charities now give skill upgrades when completed.
• Previous push-able objects now have mass.
• Access to the charity UI is only available when at the entrance of the iglu on starting island.
• Afterlife area now resembles the afterlife of the “Ocean Path” trial for continuity. 
• Enemy AI improvements.
• Enemy orca whales that are smaller than the “Ocean Path” trial orcas are in the “Frozen Chains” trial.
• Instead of losing all resources when you die, you only loose one of everything.
• The “Frozen Chains” trial will fail if the player reaches the end of day 40. 
• Redesign for the trader, charity, and other UI screens. 
• Mini map has a higher viewing range and is available immediately when starting the “Frozen Chains” trial.
• Some of the “Ocean path” trial UI Instructions has been made bigger, so it is easier to read.
• There are now tips for “Frozen Chains” trial when loading in.

Post-Release Quick Fixed.

• Occlusion Culling not working resulting in low performance.
• Chained turtle spirit enemies now move correctly and have correct collisions.
• Camera position would move close when starting the level.
• Back of temperature bar needs to be darker.
• Beacon in “Frozen Chains” is active even though not been bought yet.
• One island collider is still solid in the “Frozen Chains” trial.
• Red circler markers on enemies are visible.
• Abilities are too cheap.
• Trees and Bushes texture render issue.
• Directions Text box still in credits scene even when they are meant to be disabled.
• Enemy movement speed re-balance.
